Overview
VersaHub is an online platform that helps business owners manage both smart and non-smart commercial equipment, like WiFi-enabled refrigeration and smart dispensers. Users can set alarm thresholds for various conditions, such as temperature changes or equipment failures, and receive real-time email and SMS notifications.
In addition to asset management, VersaHub allows users to choose from industry-recommended maintenance schedules or create custom plans, manage disposables inventory, log service costs and notes, and export reports. More features are on the way.
My Roles and Contributions
In the early stages, I took on a variety of tasks, including pitching VersaHub concepts with the VP of Design and CTO, researching, wireframing, designing, and coordinating with small cross-functional teams to help bring our products to life.
I had the chance to create a UI kit, icon system, and visual standards to support consistency, scalability, and accessibility across devices. I also worked on VersaHub’s visual standards to ensure seamless brand execution across different mediums, teams, and platforms.
As a director, I focused on team workflows and internal efficiencies, collaborating on product and pricing strategy, roadmapping, feature planning, and prioritization with the R&D director and product owner to address customer needs, market trends, and technical constraints effectively.
Design and Development Process
I worked with the team to review user flows, gathering insights from engineers, product owners, business analysts, and others. Our collaboration was about combining everyone's expertise to ensure the product's design, functionality, and impact were successful within a single source of truth that everyone can add to.
My approach was focused on human-centered design and scalibility, involving user research, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and iterating based on user feedback.
We tested beta designs and equipment with real customers to gather insights and adjust the experience as needed. After launching the final product, I closely monitored the user experience and behavior using Microsoft Clarity, and prioritized improvements accordingly.
Impact and Success
Today, VersaHub helps thousands of customers improve their operational efficiency and productivity, reducing costs and avoiding downtime. The service ensures the quality and safety of their products, staff, and services, providing data and reports for better decision-making and relationships. I'm proud of the positive impact VersaHub continues to have on businesses nationwide and grateful for the diverse roles I played in its success.
